Passenger fares for the First class and all AC classes of the Railways will increase by 4.35% from Sunday, according to a railway board circular released on Friday. It is a result of the government's new Swachh Bharat cess and levy of 14% service tax, both applicable on 30% of the total passenger fare, becoming chargeable from Sunday.
