Transgender model cast opposite Mammootty in Malayalam film

Anjali Ameer, a transgender model who hails from Calicut, has been cast as the female lead opposite Mammootty in the upcoming Malayalam-Tamil film 'Peranbu'. She is the first transgender to be cast in a lead role in Malayalam films. Anjali opted for a sex-change surgery two years ago.
