Trial court acquitted Tejpal based on assumptions about victim's character: Goa advocate General

Reacting to Bombay High Court overturning a trial court's 2021 acquittal of Tehelka editor Tarun Tejpal and convicting him in the rape case filed by his junior colleague in 2013, Goa Advocate General Devidas Pangam called it a good judgement. "Trial court acquitted the accused based on certain assumptions...about the character of the victim," he stated.
