Trillionth of a billionth of a second measured for 1st time
German physicists have measured an atomic event with the precision of a zeptosecond– a trillionth of a billionth of a second, the greatest accuracy of time determination ever achieved. A zeptosecond is to a second what a second is to 31.71 trillion years. It also helped measure the entire process of an electron escaping its atom for the first time.
