Tripura's traditional folk instrument 'Sarinda' receives GI tag

Tripura's traditional folk instrument 'Sarinda' received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag on Tuesday. Tripura CM Manik Saha said the recognition will make a significant step towards the preservation and promotion of folk tradition and strengthen the state's cultural heritage. The Sarinda is a bowed-string musical instrument crafted from a single block of wood with a hollow resonator.
