Trivia: Kamal Haasan and Akshay Kumar were nearly cast in Maqbool!

Maqbool, which recently completed 20 years of release, had the late Irrfan Khan in stellar form as the doomed protagonist. However, he was never the first choice, as director Vishal Bhardwaj courted other options, including Kamal Haasan, Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, et al., before settling on Irrfan. The rest is history!
