Trump administration proposes $5.6 bn cut to NASA's 2027 budget

US President Donald Trump's administration requested $18.8 billion for NASA's budget for 2027, a $5.6 billion cut from the 2026 budget. The proposal requested $8.5 billion for the Artemis Program with the intention to "land American astronauts on the Moon by end of 2028". It also suggested a $3.4 billion cut to NASA's science program to make it "fiscally responsible".
