Trump allows private companies to hack foreign criminal gangs

US President Donald Trump has authorised vetted US private cybersecurity companies to hack into foreign criminal groups to spy on them or launch attacks aimed at destroying data under government supervision. The move aims at combating ransomware attacks, financial scams and sextortion. Participating companies must set aside bonds of at least $1 million that they'd forfeit if they violated rules.
