Trump ally Ken Paxton wins Republican primary for Texas senator

US President Trump-endorsed Ken Paxton won the Republican primary runoff for Texas senator on Tuesday. He defeated four-term incumbent Senator John Cornyn by securing about 64% of the vote, the Associated Press reported. Present Texas Attorney General Paxton will now face Democratic state Representative James Talarico in a November election to determine the Senate majority and Senator for Texas.
