Trump bought tech stocks just before announcing first tariff pause

US President Donald Trump was the first buyer of US stock market dip that came due to "Liberation Day" tariffs he announced in April last year, CNBC reported, citing his financial disclosure. Trump made 327 stock purchases on April 8, a day before announcing a 90-day tariff pause. He bought Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft and Nvidia shares, which later rebounded.
