Trump declares national emergency at US border soon after taking oath

After being sworn in as the 47th President of the US, Donald Trump declared a national emergency at the southern border of the country. "Our southern border is overrun by cartels, criminal gangs, known terrorists, human traffickers, smugglers, unvetted military-age males from foreign adversaries and illicit narcotics that harm Americans," he said, adding that he has to protect Americans.
