Trump orders probe into EU over ₹9,800-crore Google fine, makes 'substantial tariff' threat

US President Donald Trump ordered a Section 301 investigation into the EU's practice of "robbing American companies" after the bloc imposed a ₹9,800-crore fine on Google for abusing its market dominance. "US isn't a 'piggybank' for Europe...EU will pay a very big price for this illegal and highly unethical conduct," Trump said. He also threatened EU with a "substantial tariff".
