US President Donald Trump has publicly maintained that midterm politics does not influence his policies, including decisions on Iran, but privately thinks otherwise, The Washington Post reported. In conversations with advisors, Trump admitted that his decision on the war is contributing to poor performance in opinion polls ahead of the midterm elections, the report added.
