Trump removes Kristi Noem as Secretary of US Homeland Security

US President Donald Trump has removed Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and appointed her as Special Envoy for 'The Shield of the Americas'. She will be replaced by Republican Markwayne Mullin, who previously served 10 years in the US House of Representatives and the last three years in the Senate. Mullin's new role will take effect from March 31, 2026.
