Trump's plan to run Venezuela tough needle to thread: Ex-US envoy
Charles Shapiro, ex-US ambassador to Venezuela, said US' plan to "run" Venezuela would be challenging. He said it was unclear whether 2024 opposition voters were genuine supporters or driven by economic collapse. Shapiro estimated that "20%, maybe more of the population" still backs captured President Nicolas Maduro. He added, "That’s going to be a very, very difficult needle to thread."
