Trump signs executive order targeting customs evasion

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order directing agencies to strengthen customs enforcement and target duty evasion. The order also directs customs agencies to use new technology to detect illegal goods before entering the US. Foreign importers will be subjected to higher requirements for the formal entry, and only US-based importers will be allowed informal procedures.
