Turkey announces full lockdown from Apr 29 to curb COVID-19 surge
Turkey will enforce a "full lockdown" from April 29 until May 17 to combat the coronavirus surge, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said. Under the new measures, people will only be allowed to leave their homes for essential work or medical reasons. The measures will be implemented "in the strictest manner to ensure they yield the results we seek", Erdogan added.
