Turkey condemns Russian recognition of Ukraine separatist regions

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday said Russian recognition of Ukraine's separatist regions, Donetsk and Luhansk is unacceptable. "We repeat our call for common sense and respect for international law by all sides," Erdogan said. This comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a "peacekeeping operation" in both the regions after recognising their independence on Monday.
