Turkey probes Istanbul civic body staff over alleged militant ties

Turkey has launched a probe into hundreds of staff working at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality over accusations of ties with militants. Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who hails from Opposition Republican People's Party, has criticised the handling of the probe. Turkey underwent a failed coup in 2016, post which several thousand people accused of militant links have been investigated and tried.
