Turkey's annual inflation at 78.62%; highest in 24 years
Turkey's annual inflation was 78.62% at the end of June - the highest rate in over two decades, according to data released by Turkish Statistical Institute. Consumer prices increased by 4.95% on a monthly comparison. The worst hit sectors were transportation, food and beverage where annual prices surged by 123.37% and 93.93% respectively. Critics blame government policies for the situation.
