Turkish footballer shows 'wolf salute', German minister calls it 'racist'

German Minister Nancy Faeser condemned 'wolf salute' gesture made by Turkish footballer Merih Demiral at European Championship game between Turkey and Austria and called it "racist". The gesture is linked to Turkish group 'Grey Wolves', which is under surveillance by German intelligence service. 'Grey Wolves' was involved in political violence that killed 5,000 people during 1980 coup in Turkey.
