TVK, DMK slam Guv for saffron portrayal of Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar

Tamil Nadu's ruling TVK and the Opposition DMK criticised Governor Rajendra Arlekar for paying floral tribute to a portrait of Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar depicted in saffron attire at a Lok Bhavan event. The officially recognised image of Thiruvalluvar portrays him in white clothing. "Draping Thiruvalluvar in saffron attire at Lok Bhavan is wrong," State Minister Arunraaj said.
