Twitter to launch contest to find biases in image cropping algorithm

Twitter announced on Friday that it will launch a bounty competition to identify biases in its image cropping algorithm. This comes after a group of researchers found that the micro-blogging website's image cropping algorithm tended to exclude Black people and men. It said that the contest is aimed at identifying "potential harms of this algorithm beyond what we identified ourselves".
