Two new firefly species discovered in Meghalaya after a century

A team of researchers from the Don Bosco University and Debraj Roy College in Assam and University of Ruhuna in Sri Lanka found two new firefly species - Diaphanes meghalayanus and Diaphanes mawlynnong. They survive in remote, rural areas where there is no light pollution. One stands out with a red shield-plate, while the other has unique, bead-like antennae.
