Two new jamun varieties to be registered and patented in Karnataka
The Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) have developed two new varieties of jamun. They will soon register and patent these varieties. One of the new varieties is known as Jamun Nerantara, and came into notice at a farm near Pavagada. The other variety is still unnamed and is temporarily called IIHR-JI.
