Two new species of dragonflies discovered in India

Researchers have found two new dragonfly species in India's Western Ghats, Merogomphus aryanadensis from Kerala and Merogomphus flavoreductus from Maharashtra. Morphological and genetic analyses reveal these species might belong to the ancient genus Indogomphus. This discovery might overturn the dragonfly family tree, requiring reclassification of the new specimen.
