Two young children drown in pond near Pattambi in Kerala

Two children, five-year-old Fathima Zahra and two-and-a-half-year-old Muhammad Hanan, died after drowning in a pond at Pappadapadi near Pattambi. The cousins were playing in their courtyard when their family noticed they were missing and found them in a pond 50 metres away. Fathima was declared dead on arrival, while Hanan died the following morning despite treatment.
