U'khand frames guidelines for eateries amid 'spitting on food' row

The Uttarakhand government has framed new food safety guidelines for eateries after several incidents of people spitting on food surfaced. Compulsory photo IDs, protective gear for food handlers, cameras in commercial kitchens, and boards clearly displaying whether the meat sold is 'halal' or 'jhatka' and hefty fines of up to ₹1 lakh for transgressions are among the new guidelines.
