UAE firm plans to tow Antarctic icebergs for drinking water
A UAE firm plans to bring icebergs to UAE's coastline as a new source of freshwater in the region. Icebergs would be towed about 8,800 km from Heard Island, north of mainland Antarctica to UAE to harvest water. The firm plans to start the project in early 2018 and estimates that it would take a year to transport the iceberg.
