UAE's first UNESCO World Heritage site opens to public
'Al Ain Oasis' in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, has become the country's first UNESCO World Heritage site to open to public. One of the world's oldest continually inhabited settlements, it spreads nearly 3,000 acres and contains over 1,47,000 date palms. The city of Al Ain became the first site in UAE to be included in UNESCO's list in 2011.
