Incidents of Uber cabs being damaged, drivers being assaulted and company-issued mobiles being snatched away by some groups of people have been registered in Mumbai and Pune. Uber, claimed "politically motivated groups" have threatened to shut down cab aggregator services and are trying to enforce a rule that only those who can read and write Marathi should be issued a Public Service Vehicle badge.
