Uber, Lyft sued in US for identifying drivers as contractors
Uber and Lyft have been sued in the US by Massachusetts for "misclassifying" drivers as independent contractors, not employees. State Attorney General Maura Healey said Uber and Lyft don't give drivers paid sick leaves and don't pay them for overtime. "For years, Uber and Lyft have built their billion-dollar businesses on a model that exploits drivers," Healey said.
