Uber to pay ₹136 crore for misleading drivers about earnings

Taxi-hailing service Uber has agreed to pay ₹136 crore ($20 million) in a settlement with the US government for misleading drivers about how much they could earn through its platform. The startup also made exaggerated claims as to how affordable its vehicle financing plans were. In certain states, less than 10% drivers earned the amount advertised by Uber.
