Uganda's Prez since 1986, Yoweri Museveni seeks 7th term in office

Yoweri Museveni, the 81-year-old president of Uganda, is seeking a seventh term in office after ruling the nation since 1986. He came to power following a series of autocratic governments. Museveni's government also received praise for addressing AIDS epidemic. But his tenure has been marked by allegations of corruption and authoritarianism. In 2005, Museveni removed presidential term limits.
