UGC notifies new rules for recognition of foreign degrees

UGC has notified a new regulation to streamline the recognition and grant of equivalence degrees to academic qualifications obtained from foreign educational institutions. The equivalence process will now be governed by parameters, including the legitimacy of foreign institutions and duration and level of qualification. An online portal will be launched to apply for equivalence certificates.
