UIDAI to ban photo-copying of Aadhaar by hotels, event organisers

UIDAI will soon ban hotels and event organisers from collecting Aadhaar photocopies, replacing paper-based verification with secure QR code and app-based authentication. The new framework enhances privacy, reduces data misuse risks, and enables offline verification through registered APIs. The move aligns with India's upcoming Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
