UK accuses China of using academics to spy on AI research

UK's MI5 has accused China General Technology Research Institute (CGTRI) of covertly funding UK academics to advance China's espionage capabilities. In its "Espionage Alert", MI5 said over 100 academics reportedly worked on projects involving AI, cybersecurity and covert communications funded by the institute which has strong links to China's Ministry of State Security.
