UK announces 'stay at home' order in London to curb new virus strain's spread

British PM Boris Johnson has announced new restrictions for London and south-eastern England under which residents have to "stay at home" from Sunday until at least December 30. This comes after the country identified over 1,000 cases with a new variant of coronavirus. Johnson said scientific advisers informed the government that the new variant appears to spread more easily.
