UK court orders Samsung to pay ₹3,684 cr to ZTE after patent trial

London’s High Court has ordered Samsung Electronics to pay nearly ₹3,684 crore ($392 million) as a lump sum to license mobile phone patents owned by China’s ZTE. The ruling comes amid parallel lawsuits filed by ZTE against Samsung in China, Germany, and Brazil. The patents enable smartphones to connect to telecommunications networks. The lump sum falls below ZTE’s $731-million demand.
