UK COVID-19 variant accounts for 25% of new cases in France: Minister

A highly contagious COVID-19 variant, first discovered in the United Kingdom (UK), accounts for 25% of all new infections in France, the country's Health Minister Olivier Veran has said. Veran also said that variants first detected in South Africa and Brazil now account for 4 to 5 percent of all new cases in the country.
