UK Defence Minister resigns amid sexual harassment scandal

UK Defence Secretary Michael Fallon resigned on Wednesday, the first resignation in a sexual harassment scandal in the parliament. Although Fallon called many allegations against him false, he said, "In the past I have fallen below the high standards" required of armed forces. Fallon recently apologised over a 2002 incident wherein he repeatedly placed his hand on a journalist's knee.
