UK engineer in his 40s 'world's first' person to receive fully 3D-printed eye

A UK-based engineer in his 40s has become the world's first person to receive a fully digitally created 3D-printed eye, London's Moorfields Eye Hospital said. It provides a more realistic look than a traditional acrylic prosthetic eye and can be manufactured in a shorter time frame of 2-3 weeks. "I've needed a prosthetic since I was 20," Steve Verze said.
