The UK has now made an eVisa compulsory for Indians, marking a significant transition to complete digital immigration. While applicants will still have to visit a Visa Application Centre (VAC) for biometric enrolment and identity verification, their passports will be returned the same day. The immigration status will be stored digitally through the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) system.
