UK man arrested in Cyprus for spying on British airbase for Iran

A British-Azerbaijani dual national was arrested in Cyprus for allegedly spying on a British airbase and passing information to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The 44-year-old was arrested after UK's counter-terrorism police probed incidents at the RAF Akrotiri base between May 11 and June 22 in 2025. He was arrested under UK's first overseas ⁠National Security Act investigation.
