UK man develops flesh-eating disease after being bitten by spider

A 59-year-old British man developed a rare flesh-eating disease which required surgery after being bitten by a spider on his stomach. He had developed necrotising fasciitis, a life-threatening infection which can happen if a wound gets infected and requires immediate treatment.
