UK reports record daily COVID-19 cases for 3rd straight day at 1.22 lakh

The UK on Friday reported 1,22,186 new coronavirus cases, a third consecutive record daily tally since the beginning of the pandemic. COVID-19 case numbers in the UK have reportedly surged 48% over the last seven days. Official data showed 137 people have died within 28 days of testing COVID-19 positive, bringing the death toll to 1,47,857- the highest in Europe.
