UK's Petroleum company BP to lay off 4,700 employees

UK-based BP, formerly known as British Petroleum, will reportedly cut nearly 5% of the workforce in bid to save costs and restore investors' confidence in energy stock. The BP layoffs will affect around 4,700 employees from the global workforce and also 3,000 contractors. BP CEO also aims to introduce new strategy in February 2025.
