UK's Winchester College ditches laptops for pen and paper

Winchester College, one of UK's top boarding schools, has returned to pen and paper for most classwork and homework. Since September 2025, laptops are only allowed when clearly beneficial. Students aged 9–15 must complete homework by hand. Head Elizabeth Stone cited fragmented attention and distraction as key reasons for the policy shift.
