UK to ban abusive gender and sexuality conversion therapies

UK is banning abusive gender and sexuality conversion therapies in England and Wales, aimed to protect LGBT+ people from physical and psychological harm, the government said. The offenders could face an unlimited fine and/or up ​to five years in prison. "Conversion practices are driven by false belief that being LGBT+ is shameful and can be forcibly changed," an MP said.
