UK to block Sunil Mittal's bid to raise stake in BT Group: Report

UK government will oppose any attempt by billionaire Sunil Bharti Mittal to raise his stake in BT Group, FT reported. Government is reluctant to allow greater foreign influence over BT due to its critical role in nation's communications infrastructure. Reportedly, Bharti Enterprises was exploring raising stake to just under ‌threshold ⁠that would require it to make a full takeover offer.
